2021 Summer Intern
Miniat

South Holland, Illinois

Company Description:

Ed Miniat LLC

Located in South Holland, Illinois, Ed Miniat LLC produces value-added meats.

If you've ever eaten at a large, national restaurant chain, bought a frozen meal from your grocery store, or warmed up with a can of soup on a cold day, it's likely you've enjoyed one of the many beef, pork, chicken, or turkey items we produce. Our plant in South Holland also serves as the headquarters for South Chicago Packing LLC.

Position Description:

Where the classroom meets the real world: The Miniat Internship Program is a paid internship offering an experiential education while testing the theories you have learned in the classroom in an operational business. You won't be shadowing your mentor, assigned menial tasks, or given practice assignments. Our interns are active members of the organization, performing valuable projects in their area of study. Your contribution matters here and will have a lasting impact on our business while advancing in your career.

Overview of Responsibilities:

You will be paired with a mentor who will assign projects that matter and guide you through this hands on experience. This can include the analysis of products and processes, research and data gathering, and providing support to all facets of the organization. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate problem solving abilities by providing input and suggestions for improvement to the management team.

Additionally, internships are still a component of your education so group-style learning opportunities are also provided while you are with us, through our Engage program. This weekly program and workshop series focuses on the development of business skills and networking opportunities to further support your future success. Each week you will assume a new meeting role or responsibility that will allow you to enhance your public speaking and presentation skills. You will be given the opportunity to interact with various levels of the Miniat staff including members of the Executive and Management team. You will have the opportunity to listen to and question our senior leaders on their stories as they share their knowledge and experiences with you. They will also provide feedback to you on your presentations allowing for personal and professional growth.
