SUMMARY

The Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and tracking the progress of accounting projects within the corporation. This role involves monitoring project status, tracking outstanding deliverables, and communicating updates across various departments. The Project Coordinator acts as a crucial link between the accounting department and other departments such as IT, HR, and operations, ensuring seamless communication and project execution. They will assist in managing various types of projects including new product and service launches, large-scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Tracking: Monitor the progress of accounting projects, ensuring all deliverables are on track and completed on time.
  • Status Reporting: Maintain regular updates on project status and communicate these to all relevant departments.
  • Cross-Departmental Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the accounting department and other departments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including timelines, deliverables, and status reports.
  • Support Project Management: Assist in planning, organizing, and managing project tasks as needed.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and escalate project-related issues promptly, proposing solutions where possible.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the project management team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain relationships with the key business and technology stakeholders who the firm's executive team have given the budget and authority to fund project activities and make decisions regarding project capabilities and priorities. Extend this to external stakeholders when vendor or partner/ecosystem relationships matter to product success.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Basic Project Management Knowledge: Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across different departments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic knowledge of accounting principles and information systems.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues and contribute to effective solutions.
Preferred
  • Internship or related experience in project management or accounting.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software.
  • Basic understanding of IT, Operations and HR processes.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
