Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeing a passionate and dynamic Administrator to lead our Maternal and Child Health (MCH) surveillance programs!

In this pivotal supervisory role, you will oversee essential projects such as the Child and Maternal Death Reviews Teams, the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), and the Home Visiting Performance Management System (N-MIECHV).

You will play a crucial part in ensuring robust MCH epidemiological functions by managing data systems, conducting insightful analyses, and vital reporting, all while fostering workforce development.

As a collaborative leader, you will identify capacity gaps, strategize budgets, and coordinate resources to meet the evolving data needs of our MCH initiatives.

Minimum Hourly Rate: $32.067

Minimum Permanent Rate after successful completion of original probation:

$33.671

Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in public administration, social work, human development, public health, behavioral science, law, finance, human resources or other program-related field AND two years of experience in a field related to the assigned program area including supervisory experience; OR a Master's degree in any of the above-mentioned fields. Experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in public health, biostatistics, or related area, and/or a minimum of 5 years work experience in public health, particularly in the area of maternal and child health.
  • Training and/or experience in using statistical software, such as SAS or STATA is helpful.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge and skills in public health and epidemiology.
  • Knowledge of grants, budgets, and supervision are required.
