ECS is seeking an ARPA-H Bioengineering & Regenerative Medicine Advisor to work in our Remote office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon [contract award].

Job Description:

Are you a passionate, innovative bioengineering advisor ready to tackle one of the biggest challenges in science?

Are you ready to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) in their mission to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone by preparing briefings and reports that can communicate scientific and technical knowledge that inform stakeholders of the high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems?

ECS seeks talented and driven Bioengineering & Regenerative Medicine Advisor. In this crucial role, you will serve as a scientific and technical advisor-providing support and thought leadership to the program manager and performer teams responsible for generating R&D solutions for ARPA-H and its focus areas. This role will be supporting the Resilient Systems Office (RSO).

What you will do:

  • Serve as Biomedical Engineering expert-- providing thought leadership and advice grounded in experience in cell/tissue regeneration or bioengineering.
  • Experience with cell engineering, biomaterials, cell culture, and inflammation.
  • Support nation-wide data management activities including data architecture, design, and implementation planning.
  • Utilize your expertise with large biological datasets generated by techniques such as next-generation sequencing, mass spectrometry, and high-content screening, to inform data management strategic planning and architecting activities.
  • Serve as expert for novel, field-deployable diagnostic devices.
  • Utilize your expertise in design and fabrication of novel devices to inform concept, planning, and operations of device manufacturing programs.
Stay current with scientific advancements:
  • Actively track and analyze new research findings in this field.
  • Identify and propose emerging methodologies and technologies that could enhance the program's progress.
  • Participate in scientific discussions and presentations, contributing your expertise to the program's overall knowledge base.
Collaborate effectively within a diverse team:
  • Build strong relationships with computational scientists, engineers, and other scientific advisors involved in the program.
  • Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving exercises to drive the program forward.
Salary Range: $100,000-$185,000

General Description of Benefits

Required Skills:
  • Hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering/ Bioengineering, or related scientific field.
  • Possess at least 10 years of experience in relevant research areas, including biomaterials, cell/tissue engineering and regeneration, and bioengineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in bioinformation to include data management, processing, and architecture design within scientific/biotechnology-related ecosystems.
  • Experience with novel device design and fabrication, to include field deployable diagnostic solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, analyze data, and write scientific reports.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and a passion for healthcare and scientific discovery.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.

Desired Skills:
  • Three years or more experience, background, and knowledge of one or more ARPA Programs is highly desirable.
  • Two years or more experience working with ARPA Program Managers is also highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting complex R&D projects of a research and development nature.
