Asset Analyst
Position SummaryThe SMO helps MSU meet its strategic mission through effective IT Service Management (ITSM) practice implementation and education. Reporting to the Service Management Office Manager, the Asset Analyst identifies, tracks and analyzes IT asset life cycles to optimize use and ensure license and regulation compliance. They leverage data and engage stakeholders to ensure high quality, onboard new customers, and continuously improve processes and effective stewardship. The ideal individual for this role has a blend of communication, process, and data analysis skills, with solid understanding of IT infrastructure and experience supporting IT service management delivery.
Responsibilities of the position include planning and supporting Asset and Configuration Management operations, ETL processes, ensuring accuracy, measuring key performance indicators, onboarding units, and working with service owners to identify improvement opportunities. This role utilizes analysis, negotiation, and problem solving, collaborating with other service management professionals to streamline delivery. Successful candidates will be dynamic, have strong deductive reasoning capabilities, communicate across the enterprise, drive initiatives from inception to closure, with strong attention to detail. They will demonstrate a focus on listening to and understanding client technology needs and setting high service and quality expectations.

Minimum RequirementsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
