SUMMARY:
The associate accountant position is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions related to plant operations. This includes supervising clerks to ensure the timely and accurate completion of weekly accounting tasks. Key responsibilities involve managing scale house accounting, payroll activities, yield reporting, profit and loss reporting, and month-end general ledger accounting. The role also includes tracking plant costs, preparing and monitoring Capital Investment Requests (CIR), assisting with audit activities, and performing various analyses as assigned. The supervisor will ensure compliance with internal controls and financial reporting standards while providing support for continuous process improvements.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience: bachelor's degree in a relevant academic field directly related to the position, with 1+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: A minimum of 1+ years in a similar role, with a preference for experience in an accounting or plant-related environment. Relevant internships will also be considered as experience.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in standard computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the
ability to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
Supervisory: Responsible for managing and supervising management support Team Members.
Travel: Minimal travel required.
