Civil Design Engineer

Pennoni is hiring! As a result of exceptional growth, we are seeking an experienced professional to join our Site/Civil team as a Civil Engineer and contribute to our multi-discipline site design projects on a full-time, direct basis in Winter Haven, FL . This person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of private & public site development projects across various markets!

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform site development & design tasks: plan preparation, grading, permit applications (including FDOT and Water Management Districts), report writing, etc.
• Contribute to stormwater management design: Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling, Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) planning, etc.
• Engage with regulatory agencies.
• Manage all aspects of project efforts and interface with clients; this includes making presentations to clients & municipalities (when necessary).
• Assist with RFQ responses.
• Mentor junior-level staff.
• Provide quality control of staff design & reports.
• Conduct field work (as needed).
• Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
• 4+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with land development projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• P.E. license in FL is preferred.
• Experience working on land development and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, project management software, etc.); expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D strongly preferred!
• Experience with stormwater management (SWM) design calculations, especially while utilizing H&H modeling tools; experience with StormWise / ICPR is preferred.
• Proficiency on standard office software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
• Proven ability to look at the "Big Picture" as well the project goals in order to coordinate various design disciplines accordingly.
• Proven track record of demonstrating punctuality with consistent attendance.
• Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a collaborative Team Player , especially while maintaining the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

Please note that we are willing to consider a higher-level position for a candidate that qualifies with additional experience accordingly - compensation will be commensurate with qualifications!
