Job Description:
Our client is hiring a skilled Lead Cloud Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work 100% remotely, focusing on cloud architecture and design across a multi-account, multi-environment enterprise cloud offering. The ideal candidate will lead the cloud architecture team, manage projects, and ensure security and compliance within the cloud environment. This position is a unique opportunity for those with a deep understanding of cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and a passion for leadership in a technical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the cloud architecture team, managing both the projects and priorities within the cloud architecture domain.
- Work closely with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of systems, determining the priority of these needs.
- Utilize expert knowledge of cloud technologies, with an emphasis on AWS, to identify solutions and strategies for cloud architecture.
- Oversee the development of strategy and designs for an enterprise view of cloud, ensuring scalability, security, and resilience.
- Conduct architectural reviews and assessments to ensure adherence to cloud best practices, standards, and governance.
- Define and maintain cloud standards, patterns, and governance for enterprise cloud offerings.
- Evaluate and operationalize new cloud services, tools, and technologies to enhance our cloud capabilities.
- Develop and maintain cloud security strategies, including compliance monitoring and management, to meet Federal Cybersecurity mandates.
Qualifications: - BS/BA degree with 12 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or other public cloud services, with a strong emphasis on AWS.
- Proven experience leading a team of technical talent and leveraging team member strengths effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to develop enterprise cloud governance, standards, and/or strategy.
- Experience with enterprise architecture in an AWS multi-account, multi-environment cloud architecture is essential.
- Ability to create architecture artifacts, design documents, and other formal documentation.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to articulate complex cloud reports to IT partners and management.
- An active Public Trust or the ability to obtain a public trust is required.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS Solution Architect Professional certification, Microsoft Azure Certification, experience in hybrid cloud environments, and designing highly available infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
