Reporting to the Custodial Superintendent, the Custodial Worker performs routine custodial duties to keep buildings and the immediate surrounding areas clean, orderly and safe.

• Cleans offices, rooms, hallways, stairwells, lobbies and other building facilities.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, dusts, and waxes and polishes floors (may require moving furniture).
• Cleans inside and outside of windows (may require use of extension ladder).
• Cleans and services public, private and semi-private bathrooms.
• Collects and places trash in containers for removal.
• Moves supplies and equipment, often from one building to another.
• Sweeps and cleans walks and generally assists in keeping areas surrounding assigned building(s) in an orderly condition.
• Clears walks and steps of ice and snow.

Elementary education.

One year of custodial experience.

General knowledge of the techniques and practices of cleaning and general maintenance. Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions. Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, co-workers and supervisors.
