Data Protection Specialist

Sterling Heights, MI

Contract Position

Data Protection Specialist job in Sterling Heights, Michigan is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Defense company. Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat support vehicles contributing innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide.

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical data compliance efforts, including Trade Compliance, CUI, Export, and Intellectual Property classification, ensuring proper data protection protocols.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Data Protection tagging within Teamcenter, working across teams to assign classification for products under EAR, CCL, and company guidelines.
• Analyze and classify technical data, assign Harmonized System (HS) codes, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs), and manage regional trade-related codes for import/export activities.
• Ensure compliance with trade regulations, intellectual property guidelines, and export control laws.
• Collaborate with Information Security to maintain data records and implement secure data transfer practices.
• Conduct audits, assessments, and mass updates in response to regulation changes to maintain compliance and data security.
• Provide departmental training and serve as a subject matter expert on data transfers and secure collaboration processes.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen with Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4-6 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Intellectual Property, Controlled Unclassified Information, or Export Compliance.
• Extensive experience with data classification and ECCN methodology.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in reviewing technical data, including engineering drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, Department of Commerce Licensing, and customs regulations.
• Experience with Oracle and collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, and Supply Chain to assign HTS Codes, ECCN, and Country of Origin for products.
• Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration across markets and industries.
