Description:
Judge Healthcare is currently seeking a LPN to join our client's team in the Newark, NJ area! This would be a great client in a correctional facility.

Compensation: Based of Experience & Competitive

Schedule: Day Shift or Mid Shift are highly needed!!

Job Description:

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet the psychological, psychosocial and emotional needs of the patient.
• Utilizes effective communication skills by demonstrating respect, concern and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships.
• Uses current knowledge to promote a safe environment for providing health care to patients.
• Adheres to personnel policies to enhance the operation of the health care unit .
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements for the nursing personnel of the program. Performs and documents medical evaluations on inmate patients of the assigned correctional facility consistent with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards of care, NJ 10-A, American Correctional Association (ACA) and Performance Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS) as appropriate.
• Performs complete assessments of inmate patient in a variety of settings within the institution such as: initial intake area, health care unit for sick, emergency situations on housing units, chronic care clinics, and medical units.
• Collaborates with primary care providers and other health care providers to ensure continuity, timeliness and appropriateness of care to inmate patients

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as Licensed Practical Nurse in the state the facility is located (maintain a current copy of license on file at the facility at all times).
• A current CPR/BLS card with demonstrated and cognitive skills is required.

Minimum Work Experience:

• At least one year of LPN experience.
• Previous correctional health care environment preferred.
