Position Summary:

The W&M Raymond A. Mason School of Business is seeking a dynamic and innovative Director of Admissions & Recruitment for MBA Programs. In this vital role, the successful candidate will provide strategic, forward-looking leadership and effective management for recruiting students to the Mason School's MBA programs. Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Admissions and recruitment, the Director will lead a high-performing, energetic team in support of the school's enrollment goals in terms of student caliber and quantity. The Director will work closely with the Assistant Dean, Director of Admissions & Recruitment for Specialty Master's programs, and Mason School counterparts to create innovative and engaging opportunities to grow enrollment and build our brand amongst prospective MBA students. The Director will research and identify relationships with alumni, corporate/University partners, industry professionals, and others to cultivate long-term relationships that will continue to promote W&M's MBA programs nationally and internationally. The Director is dually focused on both long-term objectives as well as day-to-day internal operations and processes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and oversee strategy to recruit a diverse and talented student body
  • Represent Raymond A. Mason School of Business to prospective students, academic institutions, corporate partners, and at events, identifying new and emerging opportunities to build and cultivate relationships that will promote and support enrollment within the MBA programs.
  • Chair admissions and scholarship committees, and oversee the efficient processing of admissions applications through process development and improvement.
  • Serve as a member of the Admissions Leadership Team, regularly using data to present data-driven market intelligence and proactive strategies to guide decision-making.

The Director will provide an extremely high level of organization and a commitment to a collaborative approach with an engaged community.Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires additional hours beyond the typical work week, to include occasional overnight and weekend work as needed to meet the business needs of the operation.
  • Some overnight domestic travel will be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • A master's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and or experience.
  • Significant experience in admissions, recruitment, sales, or a similar industry.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Ellucian Banner CRM, Target X, Salesforce, or a similar system.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using web conferencing tools, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting recruitment or sales goals.
  • Proven customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Experience using analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to set goals and drive performance.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration or other business degree.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges/universities.
  • Knowledge of international markets.
  • Previous successful experience generating revenue through online initiatives and/or graduate business school admissions.

Advertised Pay Range:

$90,000 to $100,000 commensurate with experience and internal pay equity
