Job Description:


The Director of Advancement Communications reports to the Executive Director, Advancement Communications, Strategic Information and is primarily responsible for managing the advancement communications and donor research functions within University Advancement. The director oversees a team of three including Communications Manager, and two researchers.


The director oversees the briefings for senior leaders, giving pages, event registration pages, and email communications with alumni and donors. They director also manages the University Advancement section of Clark's website. Responsibilities include:


  • Managing a team of three members including Communications Manager, and two advancement researchers.
  • Manage email communications using a shared calendar from various teams within University Advancement and the greater University. This includes the creation, testing and final sending of email communications along with the creation of event pages, giving forms and other applicable parts;
  • Using these tools, this position is responsible for the production and posting of the yearly honor roll of donors.
  • Collaborate with the University's web design staff in Marketing and Communications and with various members of the University Advancement team to execute new email and event designs using BBC templates, parts, forms, etc. While also serving as a point person for updates and changes to the University Advancement section of the Clark website. This position will take increased responsibility in continual learning with regard to manipulating the institutional website to achieve the goals of the University Advancement team
  • Partner with University Advancement colleagues to ensure the necessary coding structure to support event and solicitation activity including appeals and other tracking
  • Use Analytics or other tools to evaluate effectiveness of online activity
  • Perform other tasks consistent with the job description.


Requirements:


  • The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years' experience in advancement or a related setting. Background in communications preferred.
  • Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills, and strong technical and analytical skills to include problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with alumni and online community management is preferred.
  • Experience with managing social media platforms preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and precise time management
  • Proven track record for working well independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to self-motivate and multi-task
  • Some weekend and evening work is required during reunion weekend
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and use utmost discretion
