The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $135,000 - $186,000

This position is responsible for driving progress on diversity, equity and inclusion at AVANGRID.

This highly collaborative position will provide strategic and day-to-day operational leadership on all equity, diversity, and inclusion policies, programs and practices for the organization. The Director will be a trusted a partner to leaders at all levels and business resource groups. They will partner with key internal stakeholders to create an inclusive culture and ensure the optimal attraction, development, and retention of diverse talent.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implementation, and leadership of specific Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) programs and initiatives including DEI annual strategy.
  • Build pro-active relationships within the organization and within the community with cross-functional subject matter experts to ensure alignment and focus on diversity and inclusion in all practices.
  • Partner with senior leadership team including the DEI Executive Council to integrate DEI into core decisions through the organization.
  • Primary point of contact for DEI Executive Council.
  • Translate strategies into tactical plans with clear actions, accountability, and goals to promote best in class equitable DEI practices.
  • Drive leadership awareness, commitment, and accountability for DE&I initiatives.
  • Lead the DE&I Council, including planning content, driving engagement, and ensuring the Council makes a meaningful contribution to DE&I efforts.
  • Partner with Communications on DE&I initiatives and messaging.
  • Work with leaders to embed DE&I into the employee experience, acting as the subject matter expert on all matters DE&I, and being accountable for the evolution of our DE&I strategy.
  • Work with the Talent & Organizational Performance team to apply DE&I principles to our development programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HRBPs on sourcing, hiring and retaining diverse candidates by connecting with professional organizations and leveraging social media and community connections. Develop programs to attract, retain, and promote a diverse workforce.
  • Measure, track and analyze the effectiveness of DE&I initiatives to report on progress and identify opportunities for future areas of focus.
  • 1 direct report - Manager, DE&I.

Requirements:
  • Proven ability creating, leading, and implementing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) strategies.
  • 10+ years' experience of proven success in creating, leading and implementing DE&I strategies.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to manage and influence relationships throughout the organization, coordinating time and resources according to shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience translating vision into strategy and delivering against the plan.
  • Experience leveraging data and analytics to develop insights and drive decision-making.
  • Enjoy program-solving and taking on challenges.
  • Strong written and/or verbal communication skills.
