Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled leader to play a critical role in executing go to market activities across multiple priorities on the Payments Optimization product roadmap. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare payment ecosystem (Payer to provider; Payer to member/patient, member/patient to Payer, member/patient to provider; and to some degree provider to patient/member and provider to payer) and communication products (explanation of payments, explanation of benefits, Health ID cards, and more). This person should have a strong business acumen and a successful track record of leading and coaching product team members to delivering on most important tasks (MITs). This role reports into the Sr. Director, Product - Payments Optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Director, Product-Payments Optimization, you will be responsible for leading a team, executing the vision, strategy, and roadmap across current and future products across the healthcare journey between payers, providers and members.
  • Provide product management throughout the product development and release lifecycle by leveraging customer feedback and evaluating KPIs to prioritize and deliver products that drive aggressive growth.
  • Support a customer-first product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Plan initiatives in the feature roadmap and lifecycle, from ideation to support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement, rollout, and measure meaningful features.
  • Directly and indirectly oversee the product backlog and coordinate with other teams to deliver customer value.
  • Conduct some market research and engage with industry stakeholders to understand market trends, customer needs and competitive landscapes.
  • Gather and analyze customer insights to drive product innovations collaborating closely with customers to understand specific requirements.
  • Directly and indirectly drive Go-to-market activities for successful product launches.
  • This is a highly cross-functional role and will work closely with engineering, sales, account management, marketing, client services, finance, treasury, accounting and learning & development teams.
  • Ensure team prepares tasks with clear and complete business requirements, involving ALL contributing and impacted business units and IT to establish a viable marriage of requirements and technical solution.
  • Directly and indirectly assist engineering in the refinement of technical requirements, minimizing them to the most efficient set of changes that still meets the needs of the business.
  • Meet with clients as needed to understand requirements and offer possible solutions. Learn clients' technical systems, software and current process for print and electronic communications or enrollment materials. Apply technology and product knowledge to address client needs.
  • Establish and track to project plans to accomplish project activities.
  • Deliver timely and at appropriate cadence - Stakeholder updates, across all initiatives under your oversight.
  • Manage project risk with alternative plans as required. When key milestones are missed, marshal the team to keep the project on track.
  • Ensure team provides targeted training for more complex features to internal users in advance of deployment, and when necessary, train them to in turn train the client
  • Directly and indirectly work with the learning and development team to help them incorporate new features in long term training.
  • Coordinate retrospectives at pre-established intervals, and make certain that continuous process improvements thus established are implemented and not glossed over or forgotten.

Competencies:
  • Proven experience in leading direct reports and fostering teams growth and development.
  • Product experience in Payments/banking/fintech industry including detailed understanding of money movement in all forms and various channels between financial institutions.
  • Experience in healthcare industry is a plus, including detailed understanding of healthcare claims and enrollment data and how it translates to produce client materials, both printed and electronic.
  • Strong strategic thinker who is able to understand the organizational goals and can use technology, project management, and PMO leadership experience to accomplish these goals.
  • Experience leading mission-critical programs that involve significant business change and organizational transformation.
  • Experience with developing, implementing, and monitoring process improvement initiatives, project management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Intermediate-Expert data manipulation skills; ability to perform SQL database queries a plus.
  • Ability to understand and utilize web-based applications for project management and client business to business applications.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum and Kanban development methodologies and related tools a plus.
  • Strong ability to identify and resolve/mitigate issues or risks associated with various projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, executives, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of creating and delivering presentations to senior level leadership.

Experiences/Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Product Management or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of product management experience in fin-tech or healthcare industry preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in leading and coaching teams, people management and process improvement.
  • Track record of experimenting and successfully launching products at scale.
  • Strong understanding of business fundamentals and ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining strategic alliances with industry partners and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking skills with the ability to adapt to change and move quickly in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Willingness to travel to industry and customer sites as needed to gather insights and build relationships.
  • Passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering exceptional products that exceed customer expectations.
