JOB OVERVIEW:
The main responsibilities of the FSQA Policy and Audit Manager will be to oversee SOP, SSOP and policy review, revision, and associated trainings; prepare and support VDF facility teams for third party (BRC) audits; and support Customer Quality Assurance (CQA) team during customer audits. Team member must be able to communicate effectively with internal staff, auditors, and customers to provide accurate details regarding VDF food safety and quality policies and to address non-conformances with meaningful investigations that lead to effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
This team member will also be responsible for establishing and recording KPI regarding SOP, SSOP and policy review; employee training; tracking and trending audit non-conformances and CAPA; and reporting collected KPI and other performance information to various internal departments on a routine basis.
This position requires exceptional communication and organizational skills, a deep understanding of food safety regulations, honed critical thinking skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate departmental review of SOP, SSOP and policies. Set timelines for review completion along with recurring meetings for broader group awareness.
• Audit existing plant based SSOP and policies to determine if they are accurate and appropriate for tasks.
• Determine if staff training is required for new and existing policies and procedures.
• Work in Alchemy to assign necessary staff training and partner with onsite Quality team members to create unique training modules as needed.
• Establish and track KPI for SOP, SSOP and policy reviews.
• Manage SOP, SSOP and policies in SharePoint.
• Schedule annual third party BRC audits for facilities.
• Prepare supporting documentation prior to third party audits. Confirm each SOP, SSOP and policy is current and correct.
• Support facilities during third party audits.
• Support CQA team during customer audits providing requested food safety and quality documents and addressing non-conformances.
• Track all audit non-conformances and establish KPI to share with key stakeholders.
• Ensure training and quality policies and procedures meet GFSI requirements and promote a positive food safety culture.
• Work with QC and QA team members to ensure compliance to GFSI, FSMA, 21.CFR.117 and applicable food safety standards and regulations.

JOB EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, QA, or supply chain management
• 5+ years of regulatory and policy compliance - food manufacturing, warehousing, and dietary supplements

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Required skills/experience:
• Strong food safety knowledge/background
• Working knowledge of GFSI programs, FDA and FSMA regulations
• Experience using Alchemy and SharePoint
• GFSI auditing experience
• Food manufacturing experience
• Strong data gathering and presentation skills
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Technical writing skills

Computer Skills:
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint, e-mail.
• Alchemy skills preferred
• SharePoint skills preferred

Preferred Skills:
• PCQI certification
• HACCP certification
• GFSI auditor certification, BRC preferred
• Extensive auditing experience - internal food manufacturing and third party GFSI

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in food science, biology, or related field

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Remote work position, home office based.
