Job Summary

The Global Supply Planning Director is responsible for developing and executing the global supply planning strategy to ensure product availability, optimize inventory levels, and support business objectives. This role requires close collaboration with procurement, production, logistics, and regional supply chain teams to balance supply and demand effectively and to meet customer needs on a global scale. This position will also be the Sales and Operations Planning process owner.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement global supply planning strategies to support business goals and ensure efficient product flow.
• Align supply plans with sales forecasts, marketing activities, and production schedules.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions within the supply chain through use of lean tools (e.g. value stream mapping)
• Monitor and manage global inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
• Develop and enforce inventory policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with regional supply planners to balance inventory across different locations.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure manufacturing schedules align with supply plans.
• Manage capacity planning, through rough cut capacity planning, and production lead times to meet demand fluctuations.
• Implement and oversee the master production schedule.
• Work with procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective supply of raw materials and components.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to secure reliable supply sources.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues impacting supply continuity.
• Coordinate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to understand demand trends and business priorities.
• Lead regular supply planning meetings to review plans, performance, and address any issues.
• Communicate supply plans, forecasts, and strategies to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply planning and inventory management.
• Prepare and present reports on supply chain performance, including forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and service levels.
• Conduct root cause analysis for any supply chain disruptions and develop mitigation plans.
• Manage and mentor a team of supply planners and analysts.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., APICS CSCP) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in supply planning, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proficiency in supply planning software (e.g., SAP IBP, Oracle ASCP), ERP and MRP systems, and advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of production planning and inventory management principles.
• Manufacturing process acumen with extrusion process experience, is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
• Experience working in a global environment, understanding of different markets and cultural nuances.
