Antea USA, Inc. (Antea®Group) is looking for an ambitious, detail-oriented Health and Safety Specialist in Boulder, CO.

The successful candidate will be a process and results driven, self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must also be detail oriented, with strong organizational skills, as well as exemplary written and verbal communication skills.

This Health and Safety Professional role is dual-faceted, with both client-facing and standard consulting components to the role. You will work with a local high-tech client's existing team of environmental, health and safety professionals for 2 to 3 days per week, in a part time embedded role located at the client facility (a Top 5 Global Technology Firm), and work under the management of the existing client EHS facility manager. For the remainder of the work week, the successful candidate will also provide technical support to a broader group of Antea Group's existing client teams.

Essential Functions may include but are not limited to:

  • Representing a team environment with collaborative skills and professional behavior to foster positive EHS culture.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate EHS regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Conducting comprehensive site inspections, EHS program audits, and risk assessments (including chemical and task-based) to identify and address potential hazards. Assisting in local implementation of the client's corporate safety programs and policies.
  • Providing EHS support for site-specific needs, including equipment reviews, new processes, and chemical management.
  • Assisting with Industrial Hygiene activities, including qualitative assessments, ventilation assessments and exposure monitoring.
  • Managing chemical waste inventory and overseeing DOT-compliant waste manifests and shipping.
  • Preparing Facility Emergency Response Plans and training
  • Providing EHS Program Development and Strategy and implementation tools
  • Developing EHS compliance training content suitable for adult learners.
  • Participating in emergency planning and business continuity coordination with facilities and risk management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, health and safety, industrial hygiene or relevant engineering fields
  • Minimum 5+ years of Health and Safety experience, ideally in a technology environment
  • Autonomous, able to manage complexity inherent in a dynamic, high-growth environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Professional certifications such as CIH and/or CSP are preferred.
  • Exemplary organizational, written and verbal communication skills, a must.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments concurrently
  • Strong desire and ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding setting.
  • Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Potential employees must pass a company-paid physical examination, drug-screen and have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment - Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
  • Sedentary to light work (typical office or administrative work)
  • Frequently required to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of low (under 25lbs) to moderate (25-49lbs) weight objects
  • Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (including reaching)
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change)
  • Operation of a motor vehicle
Additionally, if you are assigned work in the field at client project sites you will need to complete a medical surveillance/fitness-for-duty examination and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
  • Medium to heavy work
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions: heat/cold, wind, wet and/or humid, etc.
  • Occasional stooping (bending body downward and forward), kneeling (bending legs at knee), crouching (bending body downward and forward) and climbing
  • Frequent lifting (including push/pull, hold/carry) of light, moderate and possibly heavy weight objects
  • Subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, including but not limited to: proximity to moving vehicles, parts or equipment; exposure to chemicals; pressure (including noise); electrical hazards; biological hazards; excavation/trenching; confined spaces; elevated work; materials handling
  • May be required to wear an air purifying respirator
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000-$95,000. Compensation will vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge and skills, education, and work experience.
