Job Description
SGS is currently looking for a qualified H&S Coordinator to provide comprehensive Health & Safety (H&S) services for a client who has two subsidiaries located in the United States and Canada. This contract would start in February until October 2025. Initially, it would likely be 2-3 days a week with the potential to being full time later on.
The principal objectives will be:
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state/provincial, and local H&S regulations in the USA and Canada.
• Standardize H&S documentation and processes across USA and Canada.
• Support the subsidiaries to create a robust safety culture aligned with the client USA's principles.
• Provide support to ensure compliance with Stellantis' H&S standards across 10 sites in the USA and Canada involved in a light fixture replacement project.
Scope of Work:
- Regulatory Compliance
- Documentation Development and Management
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Reporting and Communication
- Comprehensive H&S manuals for the USA and Canadian subsidiaries.
- Site-specific safety plans.
- Risk assessment reports with actionable recommendations.
- 10 plants to be handled in parallel in the USA (9) and Canada (1).
- Two plants in Michigan USA will require an H&S coordinator with weekly visits.
- For the remaining plants, the support will focus on consulting and document management
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Health and Safety Coordinator.
- Must have OSHA/CRSP/NEBOSH or equivalent certifications.
- Industry experience in Commercial Buildings/Structures/Industrial.
- Must have previous experience in:
- Regulatory Compliance
- Documentation Development and Management
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation.
- Work schedule is 8 hours a day
- Hourly rate: $40-$50/hr depending on experience.
- Must be able to travel between Canada and the US.
