Job Description
We are a multi-functional research group providing support to a variety of companies from a diverse set of industries. Our work encompasses research in a range of fields from construction to specialty chemicals to environmental. We seek an undergraduate intern candidate with a creative attitude capable of exploring novel chemistry while also displaying a level of practicality.
Essential Functions
- The intern will develop good laboratory practice working independently and in close collaboration with team members.
- The intern will make meaningful contributions in a team approach to solving industry problems.
- The intern will experience the intersection of academic research and real world applications.
Education Qualifications
- Required High School or Equivalent
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree : Current Junior, Senior, or Recent Graduate studying chemistry or biochemistry.
Experience Qualifications- Required 1+ years Wet bench laboratory experience required.
Skills and Abilities
- Comfortable working with glassware and hazardous chemicals in a safe manner.
- Attention to detail.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Knowledgeable in the hands-on application of stoichiometric chemistry and reaction kinetics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Disciplined in laboratory documentation.
- Takes instruction well and adopts safety protocol.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to wear lab PPE for up to 8 hours of lab time.
Internships at The Heritage Group
The Heritage Group Internship Program provides hands-on, paid experiences in a corporate function or within one of our many operating companies. Interns can expect to network with other students and professionals, gain useful skills, receive mentoring, and make their own contributions to the organization. Additionally, interns can participate in our weekly hosted events focused on professional development, team building, and community service.
Intern pay is non-negotiable and is calculated based on current academic class standing $17/hour (Freshman) - $20/hour (Senior), etc.
