Overview

Welcome to Newport, soon to be The Sunny! We are in the process of transforming into a bright, vibrant destination that promises exceptional service and unforgettable experiences for our guests. As we prepare for this exciting new chapter, we are seeking a highly organized and proactive HR Coordinator.

As an HR Coordinator, you will be an integral part of Human Resources, providing administrative support and assisting in all aspects of HR functions. From recruitment to employee relations, you will ensure a smooth and efficient HR operation while contributing to the overall success of the hotel.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Support onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Maintain employee records and update HR databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Coordinate employee benefits, leave of absence requests, and assist with open enrollment processes.
  • Assist in organizing employee training, development, and engagement programs.
  • Help foster a positive work environment by supporting employee relations and resolving workplace issues.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports, including headcount, turnover, and other key HR metrics.
  • Support the HR team with special projects, including employee events and recognition programs.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:
  • Previous Human Resources experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of HR software and HRIS systems is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for providing exceptional service.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
