Description
The Department of Political Science at the University of Chicago invites applications for an Instructional Professor at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full in any area of political science. This is a new, full-time, teaching position. The initial term of appointment will be from three to five years, depending on rank and with a start date no later than September 2025, renewable based on a performance review. The salary is competitive and includes benefits.
The successful candidate will teach up to six quarter-length courses per year including: 2-3 sections of the required methods course in Political Science; one section of the honors thesis colloquium; and up to one course of the applicant's choosing, in consultation with the Director of Undergraduate Studies. In addition, the successful candidate will assist faculty with advising and programming for undergraduate majors.
Candidates must complete all requirements for the PhD degree by the appointment date of September 2025 and have a record of undergraduate teaching experience, with an emphasis on innovative approaches to teaching.
