Instructor/Lecturer of Primary Care

Full-time, 100%, 12-month

The University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine Medical District Veterinary Clinic invites applications for a full-time (100%), 12-month Instructor/Lecturer position based in our Chicago companion animal practice.

MDVC is a close-knit, small animal veterinary clinic that is directly associated with the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Professional Opportunities: This position will be located at the Medical District Veterinary Clinic (MDVC), which is in the Illinois Medical District, Chicago, Illinois. MDVC is well equipped with modern surgical facilities, in-house laboratory, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound. This position will report to the Director of the Medical District Veterinary Clinic and is available to start as soon as possible following the close of the search.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a DVM or equivalent degree. Ability to get Illinois licensure is required. Hardworking, fast paced, engaging, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills are required. Additional knowledge and skills in the areas of general medicine of dogs and cats, preventative healthcare, and practice-level surgery and dentistry are also preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply, as we serve a large Hispanic population.

Duties: The successful candidate will perform a high level of general practice and surgery while working with a team of primary care veterinarians. Applicants need to have a desire to teach and mentor veterinary students on a daily basis.
