Position Summary:
The Insurance Coverage Attorney will provide legal representation and counsel to clients (individuals, businesses, or insurers) in matters relating to insurance coverage, policy interpretation, and claims disputes. The role includes litigation, contract review, and advisory services, requiring a deep understanding of insurance law, policy terms, and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Analysis and Interpretation:
- Analyze and interpret various types of insurance policies (e.g., property, casualty, professional liability, health, and life insurance).
- Advise clients on the scope of coverage, exclusions, and endorsements.
- Review policy language and negotiate with insurance companies on behalf of clients.
Claims Disputes and Litigation:
- Handle complex insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts.
- Represent clients in disputes with insurance companies, including coverage denials, bad faith claims, and settlement negotiations.
- Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and legal briefs related to coverage disputes.
- Conduct depositions, draft discovery documents, and participate in court hearings and trials.
Advisory Services:
- Counsel clients on risk management strategies and coverage needs.
- Advise businesses on compliance with insurance-related regulations.
- Offer guidance on insurance-related issues arising from mergers and acquisitions, contracts, and other business transactions.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed on changes in insurance laws and regulations.
- Assist clients in maintaining compliance with applicable state and federal insurance laws.
Negotiations and Settlements:
- Negotiate settlements in coverage disputes between clients and insurance providers.
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters, experts, and other relevant parties during settlement discussions.
Client Management and Communication:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing timely and strategic advice.
- Manage client expectations and keep them informed of case developments.
- Draft and present legal opinions, coverage analysis reports, and case summaries to clients.
Qualifications:

Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Bar Admission: Admission to the Colorado Bar.

Experience:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in insurance coverage law, litigation, or a related field.
- Strong experience handling insurance coverage disputes, policy interpretation, and bad faith claims.
