Part-time Online Instructor (Remote): Health Care Innovation Lab Course
The University of Pennsylvania's Master of Health Care Innovation (MHCI) invites applications for a part-time instructor for summer 2025. The instructor will collaborate with program staff and course assistants to customize and deliver a 4-week online lab course for MHCI students-Addressing Challenges-in which students will apply knowledge from their coursework in health policy, operations, behavioral economics, health equity, and more to an exigent problem in health care.
The MHCI forges a diverse network of innovative thinkers and leaders passionate about improving health care. The multidisciplinary faculty comprises leading experts from across Penn. Students apply their MHCI experience immediately in their work as clinicians, executives, researchers, entrepreneurs, consultants, and more. The program is based in the Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy in the Perelman School of Medicine. Lab Overview
The lab instructor will provide guidance and facilitate synchronous and asynchronous collaboration online among health care professionals in various time zones, as they investigate, specify, and address a difficult challenge in health care. In small groups, students will work together to build background knowledge, analyze a market, build a business case, and create professionally relevant final deliverables intended to persuade funders and other decision makers to greenlight the project. Qualifications
Work for the instructor position will be carried out remotely. This includes up to 20 hours between March and May, and 15 hours per week during the 4-week lab and the 2 weeks following. The position pays a stipend of $6,000 and does not include benefits.
