Laboratory Supervisor

VRL Eurofins is the Pre-Transplant Testing division of Eurofins, committed to servicing the transplant community with regional high complexity testing laboratories. Headquartered near Denver, Colorado, with satellite laboratories in or near Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston, Atlanta, and Minneapolis, VRL Eurofins is continuing to expand throughout the United States and is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Laboratory Supervisor to work in Englewood, Colorado.

Laboratory Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Supervise the day to day operation of the department to insure smooth flow of samples and testing
• Oversee the scheduling of staff to insure production schedules are met
• Counsel staff with regard to problems encountered in daily operations
• Work with Quality Assurance to resolve client complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management
• Identify process improvements to better meet client expectations and company objectives
• Recommend new equipment for the department
• Oversee the monitoring of inventory/ordering by establishing and maintaining par levels and re-stocking points for supplies and reagents
• Serve as a liaison for the department to outside vendors
• Perform duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies
• Support VRL Eurofins' business philosophy, leadership values and ethics

The ideal candidate would possess :

• Knowledge of the methods, materials, and techniques used for high complexity infectious disease testing, as well as infectious disease instruments and equipment

• Ability to organize, communicate, teach, and work with others in an effective manner

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local standards, regulations, guidelines and requirements effecting operations of a clinical reference laboratory

• Ability to manage and schedule the work of others

• Excellent communication (oral and written), analytical thinking, and attention to detail

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• Associates degree or higher in a scientific field or 3 - 4 years of experience working in a laboratory accessioning area

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 4:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Englewood, Colorado are encouraged to apply.
