Landscape Services Foreman
MR06: Starting rate dependent on candidate’s qualifications and experience
Summary:
The Facilities Services Department is responsible for the maintenance and operations of all campus facilities, which includes buildings, grounds, and utility systems. The Landscape Supervisor is a working supervisor who trains and supervises a personnel crew providing year-round landscape maintenance on campus in an outdoor environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:

· All Facilities Services personnel are considered "Essential Personnel." In the event of extraordinary situations, the University may suspend normal operations and classes in whole or part. In such instances, all Essential Personnel must fulfill their duties in order to (1) ensure the continuation of critical University operations; (2) attend to the needs of students and other members of the University community; and (3) protect the University’s assets. Essential Personnel are expected to come to work in any and all extraordinary/emergency situations unless it is unsafe to do so or they are specifically excused by their supervisor.
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
· Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
· High School degree or equivalent
· 4 years of commercial landscape experience
· 1 year of outside supervisory experience or has experience leading UT Landscape Services crews during absence of Foreman
· TN Dept. of Agriculture Pesticide Certification – Category 3
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
· Be able to maintain daily work records by use of computer database software and email
· Applicant must have the ability and experience to operate of all types of power equipment, including commercial mowers, leaf blowers, line trimmers, and chain saws, etc.
· Applicant must be in good physical health, able to perform strenuous activities and able to lift and carry up to a 50 pounds
· Be able to schedule multiple tasks in order to complete assignments in a timely fashion
· Determine and practice safety measures when approaching tasks and operating equipment
· Applicant must have a positive attitude and interact well with others in a team environment
· Applicant must be able to follow the departmental attendance policy.
