We are seeking a lead developer of IT to be responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic execution and delivery of IT projects within an organization. They will manage a team of software developers, provide technical guidance, and ensure project success through effective project planning, risk management, and continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Project Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders, Business Analysts, and Subject Matter Experts to define project objectives, scope, and requirements. Create project plans, set timelines, and estimate resource needs to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Team Management: Lead a team of software developers, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and mentoring, and promote professional development.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with IT projects and develop strategies to mitigate them. Monitor project risks and take corrective actions when necessary to ensure project success.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, including reviewing code, addressing technical challenges, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. Overall responsibility for the execution and output of his/her development team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the software development team. Implement best practices, promote innovation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project updates, IT initiatives, and technology-related information to key stakeholders, including executive leadership, business units, and external partners. Provide regular reports on project status, milestones, and outcomes.

  • Successful delivery of IT projects within scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Customer satisfaction with project outcomes and deliverables.
  • Team productivity and efficiency, measured through key performance indicators.
  • Effectiveness in identifying and mitigating project risks.

  • Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Evaluate new technologies, tools, and software solutions to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency. Make recommendations for technology adoption and oversee implementation efforts.
  • Contribute technically as a hands-on developer on key projects.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages and frameworks relevant to the organization's technology stack (.NET, Python, JavaScript, Angular).
  • Experience with application architecture and design patterns.
  • Understanding of database management systems and SQL.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, including continuous integration and deployment. Leadership and Management Skills:
  • Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage and inspire teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Experience in team management, including task assignment, performance evaluation, and mentoring.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance, resolve conflicts, and promote a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong project management skills to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills to align IT initiatives with organizational goals. Business Acumen:
    • Understanding of the organization's industry, business processes, and objectives.
    • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

    • Strong problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges and make informed decisions.
    • Analytical mindset to analyze data, identify trends, and drive improvements.
