POSITION SUMMARY:
The Learning Innovation Specialist will create courses, instructional content and assessments, and co-produce online video/media content for credit and non-credit courses and certificates.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching and Creating Courses
• Serve as lead instructor or co-instructor for asynchronous courses hosted on Canvas Catalog or Coursera
• Develop learning objectives, assignments, and curriculum for credit-bearing courses hosted on Canvas, and non-credit courses hosted on Canvas Catalog and Coursera
• Communicate with students in credit-bearing courses and learners in non-credit courses (e.g., emails and course announcements)
• Provide oversight of grading on non-credit courses that are required components of credit-bearing courses
• Teach internal stakeholders research-supported strategies for designing courses on non-credit platforms, including the use of student engagement techniques for asynchronous learning
• Provide instruction for the integration of technology and large language models (LLM) in courses and assessments
• Create new courses for Canvas Catalog and Coursera non-credit platforms
• Collaborate with faculty to co-create course syllabi for credit-bearing courses and non-credit courses
• Develop and revise courses and course materials to comply with accessibility standards by incorporating universal design principles, alternative text, and other accessible formats to support diverse learning needs.
Instructional Design
• Review and revise existing online courses (e.g., assessments, instructional content, organization and formatting)
• Add instructional content to learning management systems
Administration
• Design new promotional materials for the portfolio of ACES online educational programs
• Collaborate with ACES leadership to advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility efforts including creation and implementation of innovative programming to diversify student enrollment across all ACES Online programs
