RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Linux/DevOps Engineer in Carlsbad, CA.Summary:Our client's Labs are responsible for the creation of new environments, as well as the operational support of existing ones that support our client's Commercial Aviation business. Our client works closely with other lab facility managers to ensure clean, compliant, and operational labs that developers and customers can use. Requests for fixes and improvements to these labs come in daily, and it is the responsibility of this team to fulfill such requests.Duties:- Discover opportunities for automation by identifying manual, repetitive, tactical operational workloads and develop automation scripts, tools, and/or frameworks to optimize and standardize
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in heterogenous environments for engineers and customers
- Troubleshooting and triaging of system alerts for senior level issues
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with typical application landscape within an enterprise data center environment
- Experience with implementing and maintaining virtualized environments (e.g., VMware)
- Strong experience with Linux and Windows system administration including security and patch management
- Experience with supporting hardware (HP servers, NetApp storage, and multi-vendor network devices) in virtualized environments
- Scripting and automation skills - Python, PowerShell, PowerCLI or equivalent
- Experience monitoring network storage space and capacity usage
- Familiarity with services such as DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, LDAP, SAML
- Solid understanding of networking principles including networking protocols, basic routing, ports, and firewalls
- Scripting and automation skills - Python, Shell, Go or equivalent
- Experience writing tools and/or APIs in a language such as Python or GO
- Knowledge or experience with tools such as Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Docker; Kubernetes is a plus
- Solid understanding of networking principles including networking protocols, basic routing, ports, and firewalls
- Familiarity with cloud principles and design
- Ability to work across multi-functional teams
- Can function Independently and mentor junior engineers
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work on a geographically distributed team
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
