Job Summary
The Manager, Sustaining Engineering - Single Phase UPS will be responsible for managing a global team of cross-functional engineers, and overseeing the completion of all sustaining engineering activities for Single Phase UPS products that have already been launched and are available in the market. This position is also responsible for fostering a culture of execution and continuous improvement that is focused on meeting customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the Single Phase UPS Sustaining Engineering Team and the design and implementation of product lifecycle enhancements or corrective actions. Oversee the root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues, manage on-going firmware enhancements, and perform VAVE and other sustaining engineering activities for released products.
- Lead the development of customized and special customer products.
- Complete all Single Phase UPS sustaining projects to meet the requirements, on time, at cost, and within budget globally.
- Implement pertinent controls and processes to ensure that all sustaining programs are progressing as planned and reported regularly.
- Manage a global team of cross-functional engineers including hiring, goal setting, training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
- Support resource and capacity planning for the team, including on-going planning and budgeting activities.
- Interact directly with customers, as needed, to ensure we are prioritizing and meeting customer needs and requirements, and to ensure a customer first mindset.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technology advancements and best practices in technology design and development to drive continuous improvement and enhancements to existing products.
- Enable a high-performance culture through accountability, teamwork, effective communications, and talent development and retention.
- Supervise the Sustaining Engineering team and functions, including Product, Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Test engineers.
- Works closely with adjacent functions: Product Management, Quality, Industrialization, Sales Operations and Account Managers, and Engineering leaders.
- Reports to the Director, Engineering - Single Phase UPS.

Requirements: - Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience as a leader in Engineering and Product Development with significant knowledge of UPS systems or power electronics.
- Strong project management abilities and a solid track record of delivering projects on time and within budget that meet/exceed all quality and customer expectations.
- Managerial skills necessary to plan, measure, and motivate engineers to continuously improve their output and personal growth.
- Strong interpersonal skills that enable effective interactions with Sales, customers, and cross-functional peers.
- Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
