We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer (MPE) to join our Heavy Industrial Torch & Consumables team. Hypertherm's consumables manufacturing process includes multi-axis CNC machines, manual and automated pressing/assembly equipment, as well as laser marking and packaging equipment. You will utilize your manufacturing and project management skills to optimize the manufacturing processes (raw material to controlled inventory location) for our high-quality torch consumable components to enhance quality, reduce cost, improve safety, and increase earnings for our 100% Associate-owned organization.

In this role, you will:
• Define work methods for a machining production area, including identifying process improvements and lead projects to improve manufacturing processes and product flow.
• Ensure safety procedures (lockout, job safety analysis, personal protective equipment, machine guarding, and ergonomics) are developed and integrated into production processes.
• Support your production team with technical issues. Providing training and support in programming, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure production area processes operate within quality metric targets. Identify trends in quality performance and execute root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and workstations essential for new product introduction to the production cells.
• Participate in the investigation and purchase of new equipment and tooling. Provide input into the equipment/process technology road map.
• Create and maintain all documents used to control the manufacturing process, including but not limited to Engineering Change Orders (ECO), routing, bills of material, standard work in each cell, value stream maps, and quality data collection sheets.

Required knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience with CNC machining in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding and exposure or experience with lean manufacturing, statistical analysis (Minitab), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T),
  • Solidworks, VSM, DFM, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (pFMEA), and structured problem solving is required.
  • Independently motivated to get to the root cause of an issue
  • Team focused collaboration skills, a flexible and friendly approach to working with others, and the attitude to always strive for the best outcomes
  • Ability to participate in Kaizen events or other continuous improvement activities
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Project management experience
Preferred experience that differentiates you:
• Experience participating in Kaizen events
• Project Management and/or Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
• Master's Degree in a related field
• Exposure to Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting
• Experience working with automated assembly equipment

$63,029.82-$105,051.76 AnnualThis is the base pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.
Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
