The Marketing Strategist is a liaison between the marketing team and sales/product partners. Work is 40% strategic, 60% transactional. The MS develops and maintains strong relationships with partners, understanding their needs, objectives & expectations. The MS works with internal teams (creative, media, digital) to develop campaign concepts, strategies, tactics and timelines. The MS develops and oversees the execution of campaigns, ensuring they are delivered on brand, on time, on budget and meet stated goals and objectives. The MS tracks and analyzes performance using various metrics and analytics tools and uses data-driven insights to optimize current and future strategies. The MS stays informed about industry trends, market developments and competitor activities. The MS negotiates contracts and agreements with vendors and manages the administrative aspect of the work including contract renewals and billing.

Compensation

$69,760 - $83,000 annually

  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers excellent competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members. The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.

What you'll do
  • Strategy Development: Develops comprehensive program/product level strategies designed to promote health insurance products and services, aligning with company goals and market trends.
  • Market Research: Understands and leverages market analyses to identify opportunities, competitive landscape, and consumer behaviors - to inform future strategies.
  • Project Management: Manages the execution of projects/campaigns from start to finish. Ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Content Management: Collaborates with internal teams to create compelling and compliant content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitors and analyzes the performance of campaigns/programs, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve ROI.
  • Budget Management: Tracks expenses and ensures c campaigns/programs operate within allocated budgets.
  • Purchasing & Vendor Management: Selects vendors and makes purchasing recommendations that support budget and marketing objectives. Supervises production with outside vendors; keeps projects within budget.
  • Partnership & Communication: Builds and maintains strong internal and external partner relationships. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Works closely with cross-functional teams including sales, product, creative, digital, and media departments to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and programs.
  • Compliance Oversight: Responsible for ensuring all components follow and adhere to strict review, approval and documentation processes for CMS, KID, URAC and BCBSKS brand guidelines.

What you need
  • Experience: 3+ years business experience including marketing, advertising, product marketing, digital marketing, account-based marketing, sales, sales enablement, communications.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. OR 5+ years related Marketing/Business experience in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Marketing Principles: Understanding of fundamental marketing concepts such as segmentation, targeting, positioning, and the marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion).
  • Industry Trends: Awareness of current trends, best practices, and innovations in marketing across various channels (digital, traditional, social media, etc.).
  • Data Analysis: Basic knowledge of analytics tools and ability to interpret marketing data to derive insights and optimize campaigns.
  • Budget Management: Understanding of budgeting principles and experience in managing campaign budgets effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas, strategies, and campaign results to clients and internal teams.
  • Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships, manage expectations, and resolve conflicts.
  • Project Management: Ability to plan, organize, and oversee multiple marketing projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to think strategically and develop comprehensive marketing plans that address client objectives and challenges.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and propose effective solutions to optimize campaign performance.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs, market conditions, and industry trends to adjust marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Results-Driven: Commitment to achieving measurable results and KPIs, with a focus on continuous improvement and ROI for clients.

Bonus if you have
