Position summary:

The Moldmaker-Repair/Maintenance will support the Molding business unit and be responsible for repairing a wide variety of highly intricate and complicated tools, meeting extremely close tolerances. Performing highly skilled fitting, adjusting, and timing.
Responsibilities

Moldmaker-Repair/Maintenance Job Responsibilities:

  • Injection mold maintenance and repair
  • Toolroom machinist background with lathes, mills, surface grinders, etc.
  • Accurately records and documents tool repairs in asset management software
  • Identify improvement possibilities for tool development
  • Read and comply with work instructions and checklists
  • Accurately record and report hours worked
  • Adhere to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required
  • Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
  • Participate in required company meetings
  • Maintain an organized work area (5S)
  • Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Complete all other work duties as assigned
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications

Moldmaker-Repair/Maintenance Job Requirements:
  • 2 years of technical/trade school
  • 5+ years of bench experience
  • Advance knowledge of plastic injection mold fit/form/function to include hot runner systems, sensors, servo motor and hydraulic integration.
  • Understanding of quality procedures
  • Ability to read prints
  • Knowledge of CAD software
  • Prior work experience operating grinding equipment, manual mills and lathes, CNC mills, EDM, etc
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of engineering and tool design required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, relationship building and coaching skills
Moldmaker-Repair/Maintenance Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in injection molding operations
  • Working knowledge of CAD, GD&T, blueprint reading, precision measurement instruments
  • SolidWorks experience
  • Prior work experience with medical contract manufacturers or suppliers with exposure to PPAP, APQP and ISO 13485
