RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Full-Time Senior Network Engineer (Fortinet Specialist) in Richardson, TX (Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office).Summary:Our client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with extensive experience in Fortinet technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a hybrid role, with 3 days per week in the office, located in Richardson, TX. In this role, you will work with cutting-edge technologies and play a critical role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing their network infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:- Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure with a focus on Fortinet technologies, including FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP
- Configure and manage Fortinet firewalls, ensuring security and optimal performance across the network
- Lead day-to-day troubleshooting of network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency
- Monitor and optimize network performance to meet security and compliance standards
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to design and implement network solutions that align with business goals
- Conduct regular network security audits, assess vulnerabilities, and ensure timely application of patches and updates
- As a Network Engineer, you will create and maintain detailed network documentation, including configurations, diagrams, and procedures
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff and train team members on network configurations and Fortinet best practices
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in network engineering, with 5+ years of specialized hands-on experience in Fortinet technologies
- Advanced certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4, 5, or 7 are highly preferred
- Proven experience with FortiGate firewalls, VPN configurations, and network protocols like TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF
- Extensive experience in troubleshooting complex network issues and working in large enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of network security best practices and a solid background in cybersecurity
- Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills with a proven ability to manage complex network projects
- Experience with SD-WAN and Next-Generation Firewalls
- Familiarity with cloud-based networking environments such as AWS or Azure
- Hands-on experience with other networking technologies such as Cisco or Juniper
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
