ECS is seeking a Network Engineer (Senior) to work in our Morgantown, WV office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Description:
ECS is seeking a qualified Network Engineer (Senior) to support transformative science and technology solutions for the Department of Energy.
Responsibilities include:
- Install, configure, maintain, update, and refine networks
- Implement, manage, and monitor Cisco ASA firewalls
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues and outages
- Document networking configurations, diagrams, and rack layouts.
- Evaluate network performance and make appropriate recommendations
- Examine network vulnerabilities and determine actions to mitigate them
- Provide off-hours support as needed for system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities
- Recommend, schedule, and/or implement repairs within the network environment
- Schedule and perform backups on all network components
- Ensure network components maintain compliance with NIST security requirements
- Develop network documentation such as diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Provide network and system administration support to the CODIS Helpdesk; ability to perform analysis of CODIS applications and lab operational environments
- Deploy and install the CODIS software and upgrades to the latest software baseline
- Support labs with other CODIS-related software and processes to include Trellix ePO, MS WSUS, backup configurations, etc.
- Support other system administration / engineering tasks as needed
Required Skills: - Master's Degree in networking, computer science, or a related field AND four years of related work experience AND one or more mid-level network certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, PCNSA etc.)
OR - Bachelor's Degree in networking, computer science, or a related field AND six years of related work experience AND one or more mid-level network certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, PCNSA etc.)
OR -
Ten years of related work experience AND one or more mid-level network certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, PCNSA etc.)
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or DOE Q clearance throughout the life of the contract
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must currently live in Morgantown, WV or willing to relocate
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills: - Active Top Secret or DOE Q Clearance with the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract.
- Two or more years experience supporting US Government customers
- Project Management Professional certification
- Experience supporting complex government and programs of a research and development nature
