Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is accepting applications to fill a full-time, tenure-track, Nursing Instructor role on the Walla Walla campus. The nursing program strives to develop a nursing faculty that reflect and support our nursing student population that includes gender diversity, diversity in sexual orientation, racial diversity, cultural and/or native language diversity, religious diversity, age diversity, and students with disabilities.

At Walla Walla Community College, we inspire all students to discover their potential and achieve their goals by providing relevant, equitable, and innovative learning opportunities and services. We have identified three core themes that describe the fundamental aspects of the College's mission by translating it into practice: Student Success, Strong Communities, and Resource Stewardship. As an organization, we value learning opportunities, a sense of community, diversity, health and humor, excellence, integrity, teamwork, innovation, personal and professional growth, and sustainability.

General Description:
The nursing faculty at WWCC transform the lives of nursing students to fulfill the increasingly complex role of entry-level professional nurses in the provision of safe, compassionate, culturally sensitive, evidence-based, ethically grounded, and client-centered care. The nursing instructor serves as a teacher, mentor, and facilitator of learning to prepare well-qualified graduates to meet the needs of a diverse patient population.

The full-time, tenure-track Nursing Instructor teaches both nursing theory in the classroom and practicum (clinical or simulation) based on their interest and nursing/teaching experience.

Quality instruction occurs when the instructor effectively combines a variety of teaching methods to enhance understanding and performance (group discussions and activities, skills demonstrations, and/or classroom lectures, etc.). Measurable student learning outcomes are developed and evaluated to quantify academic success.
