Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. (Other duties may be assigned).
- Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
- Uses judgment requiring location and storage of items, proper packaging, methods of movement of materials, and release of materials.
- Ability to work independently as required.
- May receive general supervision with little instruction on routine work.
- Uses hand/or electric pallet jacks.
- May keep workstations and production lines fully stocked.
- May be responsible for moving product pallets to maintain and segregate inventories.
- May train and implement functions in SAP.
- Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives.
- Make effective decisions relative to position requirements.
Qualifications
- Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills required.
- Ability to safely operate all required equipment
- MRP (SAP) computer systems is desired.
- Must be able to pay continuous attention to detailed operations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school GED or 3 months of experience on similar Job
- One or more years on manufacturing environment desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS- Ability to read and comprehend instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor, management, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS- Ability to complete basic math calculations. Convert English units of measure to metric.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense when carrying out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to be a self-starter with the initiative to perform job responsibilities without direct supervision. Accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail are essential.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe employee is often required to stand and reach with hands and arms and lifts and/or moves up to 30 pounds. Employee is required to meet with other personnel in other areas of the building. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employee is required to operate all types of material handling equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENTA person in this job will occasionally be exposed to moderate to occasionally loud noise and will work near moving equipment.
