What we need:

Mohawk is looking for an Operations Lead for our Inventory team who can achieve more for the Mohawk Wood & Laminate division. This person will be a leading performer who will oversee receiving and inventory controls of raw materials and packaging materials used throughout all manufacturing departments and maintain inventory accuracy for all materials.

What you'll do:

  • Helps coordinate the activities of the inventory control specialists.
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly audits of inventory as needed.
  • Maintains and archives all cycle count and inventory records.
  • Monitors production usage on raw materials and note discrepancies and offer permanent solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Fills in for team members as needed.
  • Assists in developing SOPs and JSAs for all shipping, receiving and inventory related tasks.
  • Helps qualify personnel in all new receiving/inventory related jobs.
  • Uses information systems (Shop Floor Control, Locus, SAP, Excel, etc.) to confirm receiving and inventory control schedules and allocates resources as needed.
  • Coordinates with the planning team and suppliers to optimize inbound flow of materials.
  • Oversees and audits inventory records and transactions for accuracy.
  • Works with internal/external audit teams as needed to coordinate inventory audits.
  • Monitors discrepancies between usage and inventory level reporting.
  • Communicates with all levels of the organization as needed and escalate issue to leadership/management when needed.
  • Works with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Motivates, trains, and leads inventory team members by good example.
  • Helps ensure all safety policies and procedures are implemented and observed, and that equipment, work areas are kept neat, clean, and organized.
  • Coordinates with forklift maintenance vendor to ensure full function of all forklifts on site.
  • Coordinates with waste management vendors to ensure timely pick-up of all production waste.
  • Assists with training/recertification of PIT drivers.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
What you have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience in a fast-paced work environment
  • 1+ years of experience inventory control experience
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience in Excel, SAP, Locus, and Shop Floor
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving processes, FIFO processes, and general manufacturing operations

  • Basic understanding of forklift maintenance and functions
  • Able to safely operate various types of forklifts.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task throughout the day
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail

What else?

  • This position requires the team member to work in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and extreme temperatures.
  • Other working conditions may include working long hours and flexible shifts, including holidays.
  • Required safety equipment: steel toed shoes, ear plugs, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
