In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:We are seeking a Post Doctoral Scholar to join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The Ohio State University studying protein structure, dynamics and interactions by advanced spectroscopy, microscopy and complementary biophysical and biochemical techniques. The Post Doctoral Scholar will embark on a program of independent research with the primary goal to determine the molecular interactions that determine biological function. Duties will include conducting laboratory work centered around characterization of protein structure, dynamics and interactions; leading manuscript preparation for submission to peer-reviewed journals; and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Other responsibilities include assisting with preparation of grant applications and ordering materials and supplies for the laboratory.
Qualifications:
PhD in Chemistry or a related field by the time of hire is required, along with a strong theoretical or practical background in NMR spectroscopy and protein expression and purification. Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and a collaborative mentality towards research and mentoring.
Desired skills and techniques include NMR spectroscopy and protein expression and purification. These required and desired skills should be demonstrated through a record of peer-reviewed publications.
