Description:

A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Computer Science at Tulane University based in historic Uptown New Orleans. Creating effective security measures to defend against memory corruption attacks, which can seriously jeopardize the security and stability of a system, has been a persistent challenge over the past two decades. The postdoctoral researcher will work with Dr. Jiang Ming's group on developing novel hardware-assisted approaches to detect memory disclosure attacks.

The successful candidate will supervise and collaborate with graduate and undergraduate research assistants, collaborate with fellow scholars, and disseminate their work through publications and presentations. The position is initially for one year with an option for extension, subject to availability of funding. The start date for this position is ideally between January 2025 and February 2025.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated solid hands-on skills in Software and Systems Security.
  • Strong publications record in top-tier cybersecurity venues (e.g., IEEE S&P, USENX Security, CCS, NDSS, TIFS, and TDSC).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with security analysis of binary code.
  • Familiarity with memory corruption attacks and defenses.
