Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Scientist, Veterinarian with PhD to join our dynamic Cattle Biologics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology (bacteriology) immunology, vaccine development, clinical science, and extensive experience working with cattle. This role involves leading research projects, developing new vaccines, and providing clinical expertise to support our mission of advancing animal health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage research projects focused on bacterial diseases (reproductive, respiratory, enteric) and vaccine development for cattle.
  • Design and conduct experiments to develop and test new vaccines for cattle.
  • Provide clinical veterinary expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases in cattle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of all stages of vaccine project and product development.
  • Analyze and interpret data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in veterinary science related to ruminant species with emphasis on bacteriology, immunology, and vaccine development.
  • Mentor and supervise junior scientists and veterinary staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards in veterinary research and practice.

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent.
  • MSc minimum, PhD preferred in one of the areas: Veterinary Microbiology or Immunology with the focus on transition cow and calf diseases.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in veterinary field, with a focus on cattle.
  • Proven experience in vaccine development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Commitment to animal welfare and ethical research practices.
