Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking a Procurement Specialist Intern to join our Procurement team for the Summer. This opportunity will allow an intern to gain an understanding of rural health and the health insurance industry.
This paid internship will be located at our corporate headquarters in Meridian, ID and may have some opportunity for hybrid work.
What we are looking for in an intern:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably a junior or senior standing students
- Analytical - ability to report, analyze and, make observations about data/processes
- Organization - ability to multi-task and manage time with multiple priorities
- Inquisitiveness - not afraid to ask questions or attempt to figure things out
- Communications - verbal and written skills suitable to a business environment
- Independence - can work under moderate supervision; is self-motivated
- MS Office - proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word
What you will learn on this internship:
- Metrics - review and understand the data; support regular updates to metrics; assist and implement metric improvements for strategic and operational procurement
- Master Data - understand the master data environment required for procurement; support accuracy, timeliness, and updates as necessary for procurement processes
- Support procurement related transactions in Workday and Supplier Contract business systems supporting both strategic and operational procurement functions, including inventory management
