Position Summary:

Our client, a large pork processing facility, is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the operations of the Cut Floor on the 2nd shift. The Cut Floor Production Supervisor will use their skills, experience, and decision-making abilities to ensure products meet company, customer, and government specifications. This role ensures all safety and production goals are met and requires a high level of floor presence to make rapid, educated problem-solving decisions.
Responsibilities:

• Lead team members in producing quality products according to company standards.
• Implement and maintain safety standards as required by law and company policy.
• Direct and implement job-related training for all team members, ensuring job rotation minimums are met.
• Use strong communication skills to coach and guide team members, resolving employee issues and ensuring corrective actions are followed.
• Foster a high-morale workplace with the highest ethical standards, treating all team members with dignity and respect.
• Manage the completion of production schedules as determined by the superintendent or designee.
• Ensure adherence to proper processing procedures (quality, safety, etc.) without compromise.
• Maintain discipline and accountability for team members in pursuit of company and customer goals.
• Monitor and implement timely improvements to meet production quality and quantity goals.
• Utilize problem-solving techniques, teamwork strategies, and process control tools to meet or exceed the production schedule.
• Facilitate workflow management, workforce scheduling, and placement to meet facility and company goals.
• Conduct and lead process audits to identify and implement corrective and preventive actions, minimizing process deviations and non-conforming products.
• Ensure team member compliance with company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping through fair and consistent accountability methods.
• Collaborate with other supervisors daily to ensure the facility operates efficiently.
• Assist with pre-operation activities as directed.
• Perform other duties as needed or required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a fresh kill/cut meat processing/packing environment OR 5+ years of management/leadership experience in a food/beverage manufacturing facility managing 20+ direct reports.
• Knowledge of USDA and HACCP procedures is a plus.
• OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environments.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and extensive overtime, including weekends.
• Good computer literacy and ability to write clear and concise reports.
• Results-driven and employee-oriented.
• Commitment to follow safety policies and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Uphold company policies and ethical standards.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to attend classes or training as needed.
• Physical abilities: This position is floor-based and requires standing and walking for long periods. Occasionally, you may need to assist in moving boxes up to 90 lbs.
