A DAY IN THE LIFEAs a key member of the team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including, but not limited to, the following:
- Execute project activities with a team of professional engineers, project managers and business leaders
- Direct leadership responsibilities include:
- Client Engagement and Project Reporting and Controls
- Team/Resource Management
- Project document transmittals, RFI management, Vendor Management
- Subcontracted engineer selection and management
- Vendor Management and Procurement Coordination
- Facilitate Creation, Review, and Delivery of Engineering Drawings and Specifications
- Support Responsibilities include
- Design deliverables planning and execution
- Field Engineering and Execution
- Turnover and Commissioning
- Prioritize and exemplify our safety culture.
- Identify technical issues and approachesfor evaluation.
- Interface with our customers and partners, acting as a front-line representative through effective development and delivery of system designs.
- Perform construction & fabrication oversight with our partner fabrication shops and customer's contractors.
- Review regulations related to design and installation.
- Develop project communications and reports. Control all budgetary and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
- Collect and assemble vendor information, in addition to leading the selection of equipment. Coordinate equipment procurement efforts with vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
- Mentor junior staff.
- Willingness and availability to travel as needed, both domestically and internationally, to support the project team in the delivery of products to our customers.Travel is estimated to be 20-50%.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical, mechanical, process or chemical engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience with the design or operation of water treatment equipment involving ion exchange, filtration, boilers, cooling systems, heat exchangers, and/or automated control systems
- Possess AutoCAD competence
- Be eligible for Professional Registration (PE License preferred)
- Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills, including a demonstrated ability to lead multi-discipline teams and motivate others
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed, estimated between 20-50%
- Ability to complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification with the 40-hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher class.
