Position Purpose:
Carry out assignments from quality management, involved in assuring product quality. To maintain document control, calibration, product approval, weld control, and receiving inspection systems. To assist in operator training on quality related issues. To report needs and opportunities for improvement of overall product quality as requested by quality management.
- Assist the manufacturing floor in interpreting quality requirements from prints, published specifications.
- Utilize quality tools (capability studies, Gage R&R, basic statistics, control charts and sampling) to improve quality and adjust inspection frequencies as needed.
- Perform daily product verification.
- Assist root cause analysis and provide closure to action items and corrective action follow up.
- Interact with suppliers on quality issues.
- Review and verify supplier corrective action responses.
- Support systems for ISO9001 compliance.
- Lead / direct suspect product containment activities.
- Participate in error proofing and continuous improvement activities to improve plant PPM.
- Support APQP launch initiatives under the direction of the quality manager or quality engineer.
- Limited travel may be required (planned and in emergency situations).
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Quality experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of PPAP's control plans, FMEA's, flow charts, sampling, control charts, blue-print reading, GD&T, inspection techniques preferred.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to use quality inspections and test measuring tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Willingness to work overtime
