Position Overview:
Dr. Koneru's lab at the TTUHSC Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented part-time Research Associate to join our team. Our research focuses on investigating cancer therapeutic strategies, with an emphasis on in vitro and in vivo models, and exploring molecular biology mechanisms to identify novel therapeutic vulnerabilities in pediatric solid tumors. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong skills in molecular biology and experience in biomedical research who is seeking a flexible schedule while contributing to impactful translational science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in vitro studies using cancer cell lines to evaluate drug efficacy, including cell viability, apoptosis, and clonogenic assays.
- Perform in vivo studies in mouse models, including xenograft establishment, drug administration, and monitoring tumor growth.
- Apply molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, RNA/DNA extraction, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing to study mechanisms of cancer therapy.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments independently while maintaining detailed experimental records.
- Collaborate with other lab members on ongoing projects and assist in troubleshooting experimental challenges.
- Prepare data for presentations, publications, and grant proposals.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and ethical guidelines for research.

Preferred Qualifications
