Description
The University of Chicago invites applications for a Research Associate Professor or Research Full Professor. The appointee will join the Biostatistics Laboratory in the Department of Public Health Sciences and serve as the director of the Research Computing Group within the laboratory. The key responsibilities of the appointee include, but are not limited to: collaboration with researchers across the Biological Sciences Division in the development and implementation of federally funded research programs; innovative research in the field of Artificial Intelligence and computational biomedicine; and supervision and mentorship of data scientists and research professionals within the Biostatistics Laboratory.
Applicants must have 1) a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Biology, or a related field; 2) a minimum of 5 years grant writing experience.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience as key personnel on federally funded research projects and demonstrated experience in computational biomedicine. Publication record and experience writing successful extramural funding applications, including as a principal investigator, will be considered.
