Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs work in a laboratory setting and meets the physical job requirements of a lab role.
  • Provides leadership and mentorship for junior scientists, and lab leadership through daily lab management, equipment management and lab planning.
  • Conducts production assays with human tissues, cells and in human cell-based bioassays
  • Interprets data, presents data to internal and external stakeholders
  • Supports study director team with study design, interpretation, and strategic planning for next phase of experimental design.
  • Supports Research and Development programs as an innovation team member to design and conduct innovation program assays within the new service pipeline program.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to publish new scientific content, such as posters, white papers, webinars, etc.
  • Collaborates with marketing and product management team to support new service launch and representation at industry conferences.
  • Provides client presentation of technical content, scientific results and supports clients in study director role, as required.
  • Performs independent research to support custom study design and internal R&D initiatives.
  • Provides solutions to more complex problems, identifies and initiates process improvements
  • Leads department quality management program, including documentation, complaint and CAPA management, reagent, and study and data management.
  • Performs data and report QC review within the department, and may support study director.
  • Takes ownership of client projects with minimal supervision.
  • Supports validation of new methods, and contributes to expansion of service/product line, equipment, and data management systems.
  • Prepares and manages inventory of buffers, reagents, semi-finished and finished goods.
  • Completes required training and supports 100% of Employee Health and Safety requirements.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with, care and maintenance of lab equipment and department assets. Understands and complies with requirements for work performed at a GxP site.
  • Conducts responsible use of confidential IT and business systems, as required.
  • Adheres to department SOPs and documentation requirements, maintains accurate data management and reporting.
  • Supports unit goals and demonstrates Eurofins' competencies, as defined in the job plan.
  • Provides training to colleagues and external end users, when required.
  • Contributes to scientific community and to site research and development objectives.
  • Works effectively in a team environment, under minimum direction, to achieve business production, project timelines, and quality objectives.
  • Adjusts work hours and provides cross-functional support to other departments, as required, and maintains accountability in delivering to client needs/timelines.
  • Routinely communicates project updates to internal and external clients.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):

Education/Experience (BMQ):
  • B.S. with 3 years relevant experience
  • M.S. with 2 years relevant experience
  • Ph.D. with 1 years relevant experience
  • Or an equivalent of education and experience
Skills and Experience (BMQ):
  • Demonstrated experience leading in human mammalian cell culture laboratories
  • Demonstrated experience with Data Analytics and GraphPad Prism
  • Demonstrated experience working with light-based readers with 384-well and 96-well plates
  • Demonstrated proficiency in contributing independently on a project team with timeliness and quality deliverables
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a Quality Management System
  • Must be flexible in timing for on-call receipt and processing of donor tissue
Additional Preferences:
  • Demonstrated experience with human Cell-based Bioassays in Traditional 2D Formats and in 3D Formats
  • Experience handling donor tissue and dissections
  • Experience with liquid handling, automation, HTS applications, and large-scale screening
  • Experience in small team leadership and project management
  • Experience in leading and delivering results in R&D or innovation programs

Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., with overtime as needed.
