Job Title:Senior Academic Program Services SpecialistDepartment:Arts and Sciences | Design

The Department of Design is seeking a Senior Academic Program Services Specialist to oversee the end-to-end process of graduate admissions for prospective applicants, including fellowship applications; represent the Design graduate studies program and play a front facing role in program management; serve as department liaison with the Graduate School and other University offices including, but not limited to, the Office of International Affairs and Graduate and Professional Admissions; collaborate with the Graduate Studies Chairperson on policy and procedure revisions to the department graduate program handbook and other matters related to the program; assist the graduate studies committee to expand graduate program academic offerings; work with students and faculty on curricular advising for current students; maintain or introduce new technologies for efficiency of faculty access for portfolio review; research, collect, analyze and report data pertaining to graduate associate appointments and funding to the business operations manager; provide fiscal administrative support to the business operations manager related to graduate student scholarships, tuition, and graduate appointment hiring; maintain graduate student records; end-to-end management of graduate student events, including recruitment and orientation; provide administrative support to the graduate studies committee and the department; create or supervise creation of promotional material for special events and department communication to the university and greater design industry community in a newsletter format (digital and print materials); collect and communicate graduate studies materials for web content and social networking sites. Other duties include Buck ID card access requests for graduate students; backup for department course scheduling via SIS; back-up for reception office support and management of student workers; and assistance with special projects. This position will report to the business operations manager for the department.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Four years relevant experience is required; high proficiency of written and oral communication skills. Experience in academic program planning and administration required.

Desired Education and Experience: Previous demonstrated experience with special event planning and execution and experience with Ohio State systems also desired. Experience with SIS, Excel, Teams, Slideroom, etc. desired

Additional Information:

The pay range for this job profile is $51,000.00 - $67,000.00. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
